Our Company

Harvest House Publishers was conceived in 1974 with just five titles and a dream in the heart of its founder, Bob Hawkins, Sr. Within two years, five of its titles had sold over 100,000 copies and one title had even hit the best seller list for eight months in a row. By the late 1980s, Harvest House was among the top ten American publishers of Christian literature and has now risen to the top five by publishing more than 160 new books each year and offering a strong backlist of more than 700 titles.

Harvest House titles gained a reputation of being affordable, trustworthy and practical by meeting people’s most current needs in three major categories: self help (relationships, family, money, Christian living), Bible helps (Bibles, Bible studies, topical studies), and full color gift books featuring name-brand artists. More than 100 million Harvest House books have been sold worldwide in bookstores, gift stores, grocery stores, airports, mass market outlets, catalogs, and on Internet sites. Millions more have been sold in 75 languages around the world.

Thank you for visiting our site. Just as it’s been our aim from the beginning, we hope you find a book that meets your need today.

Our Founder and Our President

Our Founder

Bob Hawkins, Sr.
Harvest House Publishers was the vision of an innovative, risk-taking, faith-extending man by the name of Bob Hawkins Sr., who believed the paperback book could carry the Christian message to the masses. In 1974, at the age of 52, Hawkins realized his dream by founding Harvest House in Irvine, California with five co-published books.

Our President

Bob Hawkins, Jr.
Bob Hawkins, Jr., President of Harvest House Publishers, has guided the family-owned business for the past sixteen years. He accepted the presidency when his father, Bob Hawkins, Sr., became Chairman of the Board in 1991. Since his appointment, Harvest House staff and annual revenue have more than tripled in size and, under his leadership, published more than 2,000 titles.
