Reasoning from the Scriptures with Muslims

eBook available at your favorite eRetailer.

Anyone interested in sharing the gospel with Muslim friends or understanding the doctrines and historical basis of Islam will appreciate this addition to the popular Reasoning from the Scriptures series. Using an easy-to-follow question-and-answer format, Reasoning from the Scriptures with Muslims covers issues, including…

  • Muhammad and Jesus Christ—what are their roles?
  • the Quran and the Bible—what kind of inspiration and authority do they have?
  • Islam today—what different groups exist, and how can Muslims be reached with the good news?

Each chapter examines a Muslim belief and compares it with biblical Christianity. Readers will find this an invaluable tool for discussing and sharing the words and life of Jesus Christ with Muslim friends and acquaintances.

Editorial Reviews

"The opening paragraph of Reasoning from the Scriptures with Muslims is reason enough to have this book in your library. The author writes that there are 1.3 billion Muslims in the world—about 20 percent of the world's population. Presently there are more than 3,000 Muslim Mosques in the United States (in 1990 there were only 30). An average of one new mosque opens each week in the United States.

Rhodes presents a crisp Christian critique of Muhammad, the Quran, and Allah. He also shows how Muslims view Jesus, the Bible, sin, salvation, and the afterlife. A nice chart of Messianic prophecies fulfilled by Christ appears on p. 168. A usable chart of early patristic quotations of the New Testament appears on p. 205. He includes timely tips on witnessing to Muslims.

Each of the 16 chapters includes an 'Ask' section—'did you know' type of things to ask Muslims. Appendix A describes the difference between the two major sects of Islam: the Sunnis and the Shiites. Appendix B is a treatment of Jihad 'Holy War.' The book is buttressed by extensive footnotes, a helpful bibliography, subject index, Scripture index, and Quran index."
