You stand before God right now in a place of complete innocence. It may sound too good to be true, but the Bible explains why this is so. Under the Old Covenant, the system of Law piled one accusation after another on top of mankind because of our sin. Every person stood guilty when measured by the Old Testament Law.

When Jesus went to the cross, He took upon Himself all the guilt, the condemnation, and the consequences that the Law demanded. He bore in His body the full consequence of your sin. His vicarious death settled forever the charges the Law held against humanity.

Because of His substitutionary death, you can now rest in the fact that the decrees of the Law, which were against you and hostile toward you, have been removed and nailed to the cross. There is nothing to be held against you anymore. You owe nothing for your sin.

Don’t allow yourself to feel condemned by religious rules ever again. You don’t live by religious rules. Your life is found in Jesus Christ, and He has delivered you from the Law so that it can never again accuse you.
