Jesus in Other People

Posted on Jan 04, 2016   Topic : Weekly Devotionals

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace." 1 Peter 4:10

Wouldn’t it be great to actually see Jesus in person? We’d be flat on our faces in adoration in no time at all. Well, we won’t see Jesus this side of heaven. That is, unless…

Unless we see Him in each other—fellow members of His body.

Unless we see Him in those who suffer—“the least of these my brothers.”

Unless we see Him in ourselves—His hands and feet in the world.

We’re saved by faith, not by our works, but good works are the result, or fruit, of being a Christian. Serving others is how we serve Jesus. And we serve others by doing what Jesus would do for them. I like to think that when we pray for Jesus to flow through us on this Day One, God will set up divine appointments and allow us that privilege. I’ve seen it happen in my own life.

I’m humbled when God sends someone to represent Jesus to me. They may not even know my need, but someone will come up with the right words or even just a smile or hug, and I feel as if I’ve been with Jesus.

Go ahead. Give it a try. Be on the lookout for Jesus in other people today. But more importantly, pray and ask for the grace of your Savior to be so radiant that people see Jesus in you.
