When Warrior Jesus Returns to Fight the Greatest Battle

Posted on Nov 10, 2016   Topic : Inspirational/Devotional, Men's Christian Living, Prophecy

We are going to have a front-row seat at what is going to be the greatest battle ever fought. In this war there will be no surrender. No quarter will be given. No prisoners will be taken. No holds will be barred. Mercy will be scarce as God extends his justice.

I hate to let those of you down who enjoy a good fight, but there isn’t one. It is going to be the weirdest war ever won. All the world’s armies will be gathered with everything they have in their arsenal, but the warrior is the only one who fights and his only weapon will be his word.

The God who spoke this world into existence will speak it into its end.

Jesus and his army all ride white horses and are dressed in white. While his army stays white and clean, “He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood” (Revelation 19:13 ɴɪᴠ). There is not one stain of blood on any soldier’s robe, only on the warrior. He doesn’t need anyone fighting his battles. Verse 15 says that the warrior speaks and the battle is won. This is the only battle ever fought where the General does all the fighting.

It shouldn’t surprise you. Jesus spoke a word to a fig tree and it withered. Jesus spoke a word to waves and wind and they lay down at his feet like whipped puppies. Jesus spoke a word to a legion of demons and they fled like rats on a sinking ship. He is the hero of the Bible. “On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: ᴋɪɴɢ ᴏғ ᴋɪɴɢs ᴀɴᴅ ʟᴏʀᴅ ᴏғ ʟᴏʀᴅs” (19:16).

Before he can put up his sword, lay down his shield, and take his rightful place as the King of this universe, he finishes the enemy in stages. First, he captures the beast and the false prophet, and the two of them are thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest of them are killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and the blood of the corpses flowed bridle-deep along that vast battlefield.

The final stage, a thousand years later, is described in Revelation 20:10, “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” After this, the warrior-general hangs up his sword, puts down his shield, and puts on the crown of a King and reigns.

So the story of the warrior comes to a magnificent close, but those of us who are a part of his army must prepare.

We should live now knowing that the warrior is coming. He is coming to bring peace, so we should be peacemakers now. He is coming to rule, so we should surrender to him now. He is coming to end evil and sin, so we should fight evil now. He is coming to eradicate suffering and death, so we should tend to the physical and spiritual needs of others now.

The warrior is coming. Will he meet you as friend or foe?

Holy God, you are the powerful Lord of creation. Thank you for fighting my battles and winning every single time. Let me give all the glory to you.
