A Word from the Author

"Stress is an equal opportunity attacker; nobody will escape its presence. The good news is that we can prevent it from having dominion over us. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can enter a realm of rest and embrace our Savior's mandate spoken in Matthew 11:28-30:  'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'  Worries and anxieties about the future can stress us to the point of death if we are not careful. It may take years for the impact to manifest, but there will ultimately be a consequence. I wrote this book out of my personal experiences as a wake-up call to all who insist on trying to live in the future and the present at the same time.  It's time to cast all our cares on our Heavenly Father.  From learning how to stop 'stress speaking' to just saying no, the practical principles, strategies, and recommendations in this book will add years to your life and life to your years!"

Once again prolific author Deborah Smith Pegues has written a timely and timeless book, 30 Days to Taming Worry and Anxiety.  When stressed, reading a book about taming worry and anxiety may seem like yet another stressor. However Pegues’ talented writing style, ability to capture and relay pithy truths, and put them in daily, digestible doses is extremely helpful.

In 30 short chapters, each three to four pages in length and meant to be read daily, Pegues identifies common causes of worry and anxiety (knowing is half the battle). Each chapter begins with a relevant Bible verse and then goes on to provide practical solutions for taming one’s worry and anxiety, closing with a simple prayer.

I cannot recommend this power-packed book highly enough.

No one is immune to worry and anxiety, which is why this book by Deborah Pegues would make an excellent source to help maneuver through life’s greatest challenges.

As with her other writings, it is steeped in biblical principles. However it stretches far beyond the notion that it is written for any specific religious belief. Anyone who has ever felt the hopelessness of an overwhelming situation would find comfort within the pages of this book and tools for any crises looming in their future.

Although it is meant to be utilized over 30 Days, each page entices you to keep reading. I couldn’t help myself as I eagerly turned the pages anticipating the next nugget of wisdom. I finished reading the book in no time flat. I will now go back to read each day over the next month.

It’s an easy read, chocked full of practical and useful tips. Anyone fortunate enough to utilize Ms. Pegues approach to taming worry and anxiety would be greatly benefited in managing this age-old dilemma.

This is a must have for your Library!
