Anna’s Healing is the first book in a brand-new collection from popular author Vannetta Chapman. These stories of love and family and Amish community in Oklahoma tell of the miracles that can happen when lives are lived in service to God and to one another.

When a tornado strikes the farms surrounding Cody’s Creek, Anna Schwartz’s life is changed forever. She suffers a spinal cord injury and suddenly finds herself learning to live as a paraplegic.

Three people—Chloe Roberts, Jacob Graber, and Ruth Schwartz—join forces to help Anna through her darkest days. Chloe is an Englischer who writes for the local paper. Jacob has recently arrived in town and stays on as a hired hand at her uncle’s. And Ruth is her grandmother, a woman of deep faith and a compassionate spirit.

Then one morning Anna wakes and finds herself healed. How did it happen? Why did it happen? And what is she to do now? Her life is again turned upside down as the world’s attention is drawn to this young Amish girl who has experienced the unexplainable.

A Word from the Author

"Book 1 in my Plain and Simple Miracles collection deals with one of the most fundamental cornerstones of our faith—do we believe that God still intercedes in the lives of his believers? As we follow Anna Schwartz through the days preceding her injury, then the dark time of her diagnosis and limited rehabilitation, we're plagued by the age old question of 'why.' But God has a plan for Anna, just as He has a plan for you and for me. My prayer is that Anna's Healing will remind each reader of the length and width and height and depth of God's love."
Vannetta Chapman, author of Anna's Healing

Anna’s Healing is a marvelous story of courage, faith, and hope. Vannetta Chapman does an outstanding job of making this story real. The characters are believable and likable and their faith in God is evident throughout. The tension in the story keeps the reader turning the pages, wondering what is going to happen next. And when the story is completed, readers may still have questions about what happened to Anna but one thing is sure when one encounters the Holy God—one comes away forever changed.

Do you believe in miracles? I do, and this book is a very good example of how we should put our trust and have deep faith in God.

I really loved this story and the characters. This is one of those books that when you start reading you do not want to put it down till you finish it.

This is such a sweet story. Vannetta Chapman does a wonderful job of weaving together a story that will stay with me for a long time. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the realistic characters in this story. My heart was aching for Anna and her struggles of living in a wheelchair at such a young age. One of the things that stood out to me in the story was the way Ms. Chapman brings out the fact that difficult situations strengthens our walk with God, and that our lives can have meaning, even when living with disabilities. And that sometimes its in our darkest moments and most difficult situations that we can see God working the most.

The story has captured the Amish in beautiful detail. The author is well versed in the Amish and her descriptions are so precise that you can visualize the community and the people as though you are there. I loved the way the author uses the Amish dialect and has helped me to learn a few words. The characters are warm and caring. They have a strong faith. I was surprised that Amish use tractors now for transportation, but with the authors in-depth knowledge of them, I always learn something new while reading her books. I found the book to be very emotional and so well written that I finished it in a few hours. There are a few surprises in the book, which I wasn’t expecting. Thank you for a book that captures the lives of the Amish with a warmth and loving attention to detail. As you read the book, don’t overlook the mention of an organization that helps children called, The Linus Project.

Overall the book is captivating, emotional, hopeful, and above all filled with love and faith.

Anna’s Healing is the perfect read for Christmas time. Anna believes her life is pretty much over after a storm leaves her a paraplegic. Her grandmother never gives up hope and is not surprised when the miracle happens.

This story will make you believe in miracles. Great job Vannetta Chapman!

“I have read a lot of Amish Fiction and this one really stood out above the rest. With relatable characters, even though I am not Amish, and a compelling story line. In this book the characters bring up all the questions we ask about miracles of healing, and addresses both the questions and the answers honestly and realistically. A story provoking assessment of your own faith and leaving you with a hopeful and encouraging message.”

Riveting until the very end. 5 stars!”
