Grief. It’s a messy, hard path…yet it’s a journey everyone will take at some point in life. When men walk that road, they often find they’re not given the freedom to grieve as they need to. Author Jonathan Fann has been there, having lost two children and his father in less than 18 months.

Grieve like a Man offers men a practical guide to navigating the path of grief in a culture where men are taught to be tough. The author also provides insight for wives, mothers, sisters, and friends into how men grieve differently than women and how they can come alongside the men in their lives who are hurting from a loss.

Readers will learn how to face grief that occurs, not just in the case of death, but also during the loss of a marriage, jobs, and even a man’s hopes and dreams. An encouraging book for every man dealing with loss.

A Word from the Author

“At some point we will all find ourselves on the journey of grief. It’s a journey full of challenges, dangers, and hopefully, healing. It is also a journey that few men are taught to travel. As a man you may have tried to simply will your way through loss. It likely didn’t work. You may have tried to learn to grieve from the women in your life. It likely left you confused. How would it feel to understand how to grieve the way God created you to, as a man? It is my prayer that through this book both men and women will learn how and why men grieve the way we do. In doing so, I hope to help people avoid the conflict and hurt that all too often stems from grieving in different ways.”
Jonathan Fann, author of Grieve Like A Man

Editorial Reviews

“If you are a man who has experienced a significant loss and are grieving or you know someone who is, this book is truly a good and helpful practical read that will be of great help as you or they walk down that dark, long and often times all too lonely road that can eventually lead to a deepening of your love for God and your faith as well as your love for others. I highly recommend this book!”

As men, we process emotions differently than women. We do experience pain and suffering. It may appear to women that the man is not demonstrating the same grief. This book demonstrates to a man that their process is real and it is ok to have emotions and that dealing with them is necessary for your spiritual and emotional growth. Until you have dealt with your grief you will remain locked up and not be moving forward in real life.
