“I really liked this book. It reminded me to not waste a moment. One of the most heartfelt sections is where Donna talks about her poignant journey with her sister Debbie, who recently died of cancer. She shares the letter Debbie wrote to her grandchildren as a legacy of love. I wept. I have young grandchildren too and I cannot imagine leaving them any time soon.

Donna Carter challenges the way we think about things. This book is about finding our purpose by prioritizing and downsizing. And I’m not just talking about stuff. It’s attitudes, schedules, choices and more that need a work over.

She helps us think through what’s really important in our lives. She urges us to look at what we do and ask why. To ask, is this what I really want? Is this what God wants for me? Is this what I was made for? Am I missing the more important because I am enslaved to the immediate?

Like all her books, Carter employs sage wisdom gleaned from her life experience. She is not asking the reader to do anything she has not road tested. Her personal stories are engaging, authentic and funny. She is transparent about her own relationships and attitudes.

Lest the reader is tempted to think she lives in an ivory tower, she doesn’t. She is that levelheaded, down-to-earth friend from your church or your office or your neighborhood. You know, the one everyone seems to find their way to at some time or other when they need a boost, a tip, a nudge, or even a shove in a better direction.”
